"Know Your Stream" Day
Focus: Waackaack/Mahoras and Flat Creek watersheds.
1. Register your family on the Alliance website: monmouthwater.org
2. Receive a map with eight key viewing points along the streams.
3. Meet our volunteer "Stream Captains" at each point for guided observations and explanations on stream characteristics and their relevance to water quality and flood mitigation.
4. Complete a simple observation form to help us gather crucial data right from the ground!
The Cosmic Signal
In 1964 a horn-shaped antenna, that stands on Crawford Hill in Holmdel, accidentally stumbled on a cosmic signal, not from an alien world but from the source from which the universe emerged 14 billion years ago. This talk will screen a 10-minute video of the 60th anniversary celebration of this discovery and explore what the cosmic signal may be telling us about our role in the universe.
